FEATURING:

TOPSHOP BEAUTY LIP OMBRE IN BAFFLE*
+–+–+

Last September I had the total pleasure of being invited to the Topshop Unique catwalk show at London Fashion Week, and they were looking forward to the trend for Spring/Summer 2015. Well, now it is Spring 2015, Topshop Beauty have finally released the Lip Ombre product they used backstage on Cara, Jourdan and crew. You can read my feature on the show here, with the Lip Ombre shown on Cara and the girls as they walked down the runway.
I have the shade Baffle which was the base used at the Unique show, and it’s a vibrant red base shade with a softer pink toned red for the ombre highlight shade underneath. Even though they look like they’re powder (I thought the base one was eyeshadow!!) they’re actually a really creamy texture. I was surprised how easily I managed to swish the product around my finger to apply, it’s quite light and moveable, not stiff or difficult to work with.

Now, you kinda need a lip brush with this. I was trying to get a similar look to the LFW show and I remember Hannah Murray (the makeup artist for the show) using her fingers to apply the product, to make it look like the girls had ‘kissed the boys’ and were a bit dishevelled. Well i wanted to show the colour and also try applying it with my finger and it was difficult. It’s a little annoying it doesn’t come with a little lip brush, but as they’re only £9 you can pick a cheap lip brush up to help you apply this, as it’s definitely hard to do with fingers alone. However that’s how i’ve done it in the pictures so if you’re careful you can do it!

Dab on the lighter shade to the bottom middle ‘heart’ area of your lips to make it look highlighted and with a soft ombre. I really like the effect actually and tend to do this naturally anyway with lip gloss and other lipsticks when i’m wearing my lipsticks. You can see it helps add another dimension to the lip and help it look fuller, which is great.

I like the Topshop Lip Ombre product, but do wish it came with even a small brush inside the box! I do think Baffle is the nicest shade, too. What do you think of this idea? Will you be grabbing a Lip Ombre?
