gold eyes for winter partying
today’s listening 6th october; lady gaga, applause (purity ring remix)
A huge trend for autumn/winter, is gold eye makeup. About to explode all over the Dior counter for their fall makeup trends for one, it’s one of those shades that comes glittering out in all it’s sparkle cos everyone’s feeling all christmassy in the lead up to the big day in December. This is just one gold look that i’ve tried out recently, and it’s fairly simple and not too gold, but still enough to be super glitzy and dazzling.
You need to grab a good gold base, ideally – to set the whole thing off. I used Maybelline’s 24 Hour Tattoo in shade 24k Gold, which is a brilliant base (second from top in swatches) being quite true to bright gold. Pop this all over the lid using your fingers, and blend out toward the eyebrow gently. Get some gold eyeshadows, and this is where you can make it as gold or as soft as you like really, depending on the golds you pick. I picked a really neutral peachy gold for my highlighter, and that is Urban Decay’s Half Baked. I just swept this under the eyebrow and into the inner corner. All over the lid I used MyFace Cosmetics in Gilt-y which I just patted gently into the gold base I already applied.
Using the Seventeen Make Your Mark Pen Eyeliner I drew on a simple cat eye flick on the top lid, and lined the bottom lash line with GOSH Pencil. Obviously I finished with a sweep of mascara too!
Well diggin’ the gold – ain’t sayin’ she a golddigga – and I know for one that if I can’t have Summer then i’m going to just sulk in the corner with sparkly gold eyes to my hearts content. How do you like this simple gold eye look? Do you like wearing gold on your eyes during the autumn/winter months? Let me know in the comments!
