Lovebox Festival is one I look forward to every year because the eclectic vibe is something they just absolutely nail. From curated areas and themed bars to a real genre line up mix, it’s a whole heap of fun. This year I headed down on the Saturday with Jose Cuervo, and to give you some fun weekend vibes I thought i’d reminisce on such an awesome day in this post today!
So this year at Lovebox Jose Cuervo had a Tequila Town, which was full of colour, Mexican fun and vibrancy. They had their own DJs as well as plenty of Jose Cuervo and a whole lot of dancing! I absolutely adored it in there, I thought they brought a little flavour of Mexico to London and everyone I saw in there was smiling and having a great time. I think it’s so good to have little chill out areas away from the main stages that people can just socialise in, and I think the Tequila Town was one of the best i’d ever seen at a festival.
I think you can really tell from these photos how much effort went into the area at the festival, and the little attention to details were what made this little area so joyful to hang out in. I loved the little shacks with their graffiti adorned wood, as well as the little paper flags waving in the breeze above our heads. It really was a little fiesta!
I’d wanted to see Oh Wonder live for ages now, as their soulful music has been the soundtrack to my day to day life for the last few months. They played fairly early on over on one of the outdoor stages at Lovebox and for me it was the perfect way to start my day. They truly are incredible live, and really worth your time if you happen to be near a set they’re playing soon. I also saw Jungle on the main stage, who were full of live as you’d expect, and got the crowd singing along with their inimitable songs that have soundtracked our Summers for a while now.
I spent the day with Amy and Kayla, who I absolutely adore. They are so fun and always up for any festival adventures – I love that we’ve been to quite a few together this year already, from Slam Dunk to Download and now Lovebox. I can’t wait to see them at Reading. Kayla was super stoked to see that the VIP area – that Jose Cuervo kindly hooked me up with, babes – matched her unique pink aesthetic, and the whole theme in there this year was a kinda Miami cool meets California Baywatch babe look. I love that every single year Lovebox put a lot of effort into theming the VIP area.
From the Tequila Town to the VIP area, Lovebox has this wonderful chilled out scene, that makes it a pleasant day out even if you don’t end up catching any music. They make the layout so you kinda stumble across new tents and little stages you didn’t see before, and we saw everything from a 20-ish strong drumming band to a full on rave. Giant animals ‘n all! This is one of the reasons why I felt the Tequila Town looked so at home here, it felt like every corner you turned you were transported to another part of the world, a new culture and a new adventure awaiting you, even though really you were just in Vicky Park in North London. I just couldn’t stop smiling at the dancers, and the reaction they got from the crowd in the Tequila Town area!
In short, I couldn’t recommend Lovebox more. This was about my fourth year in a row of going, and if there’s a chance – I’ll always go. I’m so grateful to Jose Cuervo for opening up their loving arms and taking me with them – and if you spot them at a festival this year, be sure to head on in and enjoy the party! I promise you’ll love it.
