I learned such a valuable lesson this day that i’d never really previously thought of because it’s not something that usually happens in our fair country of England, and that was that lipstick melts in hot countries. Yes it does. This lipstick i’m wearing is MAC’s Dangerous, and not only did it get dangerously melty to the point where the entire outside layer melted into a clear shiny layer – it melted away from being matte on my lips – weird huh? Anyway, perhaps 32 degree heat and red lipstick aren’t a good match – but hey the photos look nice right?
I don’t always dress in all blue because of my blue hair but when I do I love to try and keep it a little themed, and as you can see here I was blessed with the most beautiful background to go with my nautical inspired blue, white and red colour palette. I don’t usually dress kind of nautical because I think as a theme and style it’s quite hard to do without looking a touch novelty, and as i’m bad at trying to do this, I always take a lot of style inspiration from people like Carrie and Olivia who do this kind of style all the time really well.
I’ve really fallen for this top from Lavish Alice (now on sale!), because even though it’s kind of a dark navy, even in the 31 degree heat I wasn’t hot as it’s made from a thin, breathable material. My American Apparel shorts are perfect for me because they’re long as they’re cut in a vintage style – there’s no booty on show over here!
How do you rock a bit of nautical themed style into your wardrobe?
