So I actually got inspired for this trend feature by a show I saw at London Fashion Week. Ooh get me looking to the catwalks for actual future trends! Well it was Nasir Mazhar, which you can read all about here, and I was very privileged to head backstage to see the teams in action. Nails were by WAH and they mixed up a classic French mani into an inverted ‘street’ style mani. One of the shades they used was a deep luxe green, and it’s got me thinking about how this might actually be a huge Spring trend rather than the usual pastels we all run to the hills for.

I rummaged through my nail polish stash and found some gorgeous deep green favourites, that range from a more moss green to a deep blue turquoise green – which actually shows up a lot bluer under my studio lighting! In real life/daylight it’s proper teal though, it’s a total mind bender! I’m baffled by it being so blue under studio lights – i haven’t gone mad I promise!

My favourite has to be NCLA’s Malibu Beach Babe, which comes in at a bit more of a blue turquoise green, but still a deep green vibe never the less. For a more accurate representation of the trend, Deborah Lippmann’s Girls kit which I blogged about last year here had a shade called Hannah, that I just adore, but isn’t massively readily available any more other than the link below in Selfridges.

Also from a 2014 launch, O.P.I’s Brazil themed collection saw the gorgeous Amazon…Amazoff that adorned my toes pretty much all Summer. Barry M’s Gelly polishes as I blogged about here saw some unusual shades for Autumn and along with them came Cardamom, a gorgeous muted green. I also love this Burberry shade – Sage Green – and I can definitely see myself wearing that a lot in Summer as it’s a bit brighter than the others!

All in all i’m thinking deep green nails are definitely going to pop up for Spring, as a trend a little different to what’s dominated the nail world for the last few years. I also adore a matte green nail, gorgeous! Will you be wearing a dark green variant on your nails this year? Shop my picks below.
