When Charlotte Tilbury first dropped the lipstick Pillow Talk, it was an instant hit. I bought it straight away, and I chatted about it in this blog post from 2017 here. Flash forward two years and I still love it, have repurchased it and wear it often. I was lucky enough to be sent the rest of the collection from Charlotte Tilbury, and it’s now a limited edition full range of products in this lovely dusky pinky meets beige shade. It consists of a palette, a blusher with a lip liner and lipstick, and I’m here to talk you through them today!
For me the Pillow Talk collection is the ultimate ‘easy face’. It’s foolproof, which I know is what Charlotte does at the core of her range – she makes it accessible, easy, and straight forward for anyone, of any skin tone, to get that superstar look that she does at the Oscars or the Grammys. Pillow Talk is no exception. So first up is the Pillow Talk Lip Cheat, and the Pillow Talk Matte Revolution Lipstick, which if you haven’t tried – is the nicest formula. It’s a soft matte that doesn’t dry out the lips, and leaves a soft sheen. Very universally flattering. The Lip Cheats are some of the nicest products and honestly I think they are a really good entry product into the brand if you are yet to try it. They glide on effortlessly, stay flawlessly for hours, and provide either a beautiful lip alone, or the perfect base for the lipstick. Pillow Talk leans toward pinky undertones, but it can come out quite beige toned on paler skin. I love it on dark skin tones, it makes the most beautiful pinky nude and honestly – you can see why it’s cult. It suits everyone. In my opinion the lipstick is a foolproof gift for anyone that you love in your life! They will feel so special.
In terms of the palette it might not look like the most exciting palette on first glance, but it is a very versatile and again – easy – palette. The swatches above show the palette anti clockwise, and the last heart is the Pillow Talk lipstick. The Pillow Talk Luxury Palette has four shades in varying finishes, two matte, one shimmer and one sparkle. In my opinion the best shade is the soft pink matte because it is so easy to apply, has lovely pigment and works as an all over wash of colour if you’re in a rush, or can be contoured with the darker pinky beige and accented with the shimmer if you have a few more minutes to spare in the morning. That’s my favourite way to wear the palette, and it makes for either a grungey look, or a super polished look depending on how you wear it and what mood you’re in. Finish up with the Pillow Talk Chic to Chic Blusher which gives the nicest glow due to it’s duo-toned pale golden pink centre and deeper pink outer shell.
So a little look at the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk collection, for me it’s an easy look for every day and I adore using the products – anything dipped in gold makes you feel so special right? Charlotte just gets it right every single time and for me every product is a hit.
