This weekend has been the Slam Dunk weekend, and officially the start of festival season! Epic. I have to admit, I didn’t feel totally ready at first, but when we got there I started to feel much more at ease and into the swing of things again. After having months away from festival fields, it can be hard to get back into being used to it again but it soon felt like second nature after an hour or so. Luckily, we arrived in the afternoon and just missed the rain, which I was dead stoked about! Rain is my nemesis! Coloured hair + rain = a mix that does not work.
So anyway, there are three Slam Dunk locations that take place across Saturday, Sunday and Monday, and they’re all in different parts of the UK. As we live in London, the South – Hatfield – location was the choice for us. We headed down on the train and quickly bumped into loads of our friends, and generally did not stop smiling until 3am when we got home.
We saw Bayside, who played a great mixture of old classics and new songs to a good size crowd, and a little bit of Lower Than Atlantis. Nice to see those boys again after they butchered beautified my face for this makeup video here from last month! We then saw Don Broco, who were the band I was most looking forward to seeing. We actually took these snaps just before their set round the back of the stage – you can see their ‘db’ logo ready to go in the background! We also managed to catch some of Taking Back Sunday, as well as ending our night going inbetween You Me At Six, The Bronx (who were probably my highlight of the day, insane) and The Wonder Years. All good stuff.
It was a little chilly so I chose to wear my long sleeved Boohoo co-ord set, with this vintage fringed jacket I found at a rummage sale in Bethnal Green. My new love however, lies in the form of that ASOS necklace, which is a choker with all the chains attached! I think it’s awesome! Anyway, as always head to the bottom of the post to check out the links to the products. I’ve linked a couple similar jackets to mine, too.
Did you go to Slam Dunk Festival this year? Click above and watch my little YouTube video of the day and let me know what you thought! Is this the kind of thing you’d wear to a festival too?
