New Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick Nude Shades for 2017
Photography: Zoe London
As soon as I saw there were new Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick shades – I needed them.
So as we know, one of the best liquid lipsticks on the market is the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick. From the very first one I got over three years ago – Bauhau5, by the way – I was hooked. They’re the perfect mix of easy to apply with non drying formula. Kat announced in December she was expanding the range by another 27 new shades (best news ever) and they launched a pre-release of six nudes in early February. Right now it’s US only, but I know a lot of you guys are from the US or visit the US, and it seems like the shades will be hitting the UK shores in a couple of months, so you’re getting an early heads up! My friend Hannah was in NYC, so I persuaded her to take a trip to Sephora to pick these ones up for me. All the love for Hannah!!
So the two I chose are Ludwig and Sanctuary.
I loved all six shades to be honest, but the two I was most drawn to were Ludwig and Sanctuary. Ludwig is a ‘nude fawn’ as described by Sephora, and is quite a pale-ish nude with a coral undertone. Sanctuary is a ‘nude coffee’ which is a bit greyer on my skintone and comes out darker. They’re both gorgeous, and considering I was going off online swatches and relaying them to Hannah without seeing it in the flesh, i’m so happy with the ones she picked up for me.
The Kat Von D Formula.
If you’re not familiar with the Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks, they are more of a mousse type formula compared to some others that are a dry liquid. They’re less mousse-y than NYX but more moisture-inducing than Colourpop. I find them to be the perfect in between, a soft and easy to apply formula that still dries down to a solid lip that isn’t going anywhere. They are also quite a large sized long tube, and I am yet to run out of one. Considering I use my other shade Bow N Arrow quite a lot, i think that’s pretty good going!
I couldn’t recommend these more.
I’ve been loving using these for the last three years, and it’s a Kat Von D product I wouldn’t ever stop purchasing. I love the formula, the longevity, and even the packaging is gorgeous. I know they’re some of her most coveted and famous items, but there’s good reason for that – this stuff is really good. It’s also all vegan and cruelty free, which is a total plus. Last year I got to sit down with Kat herself and talk about the range and her feelings/input toward it. If you want to take a look at that, you can check it out below. She’s a really lovely down to Earth interesting person, and it was a pleasure to meet her.

I wanted to compare them to my other nude shades.
Above you can see a side by side swatch comparison which may help you when purchasing. On the far right is Bow N Arrow, one of the best selling nudes from the existing range. Next to it is the new shade, Ludwig, which you can see is a bit more coral/paler than Bow N Arrow. Lolita is third in the lineup, which I never realised was quite so red before. Lolita really comes out as a coppery nude against these more cooler shade tones. On the end is Sanctuary, which when we think back to how Sephora described it as ‘coffee’ is pretty accurate actually. It’s quite a cool tones soft brown, and on my skin tone I think it’s my favourite out of the four.
So there we go a little sneaky peek into a couple of the newer Everlasting Liquid Lipstick shades. I’m hoping to pick up some of the bolder/brighter shades when I visit America in a couple of months, unless they come out before and a sneaky little Sephora shipment ends up crossing the sea for me…!
Let me know what you think of these shades in the comments and whether you too love Kat Von D as much as me. By the way, just to clarify incase you are curious, you can buy the existing lipstick range at Debenhams in the UK now, not just in the US. Enjoy!!
