I’m really loving having bright yellow in the tips of my hair at the minute, and when I was looking through my IMATS purchases and found the pigment in Olivia, I just knew I had to get on some kind of matchy matchy makeup hype. I think this look is actually so perfect for festivals and will look rad with some summer sun shining on it! Of course it’s totally wearable outside of festivals – it’s the kind of thing i’d wear to a party, for example – but I think it makes a nice alternative to the usual face paint at festivals.
So to do this I used three of my Sugarpill Chromalusts (which you can buy on cutecosmetics here), and layered them on top of a cream shadow base. Ideally you want a white or a light grey cream shadow that’s really old Illamasqua and not available anymore, but their pigment in Bedaub would actually be perfect for this look! I think I might buy it.. haha. Layer the Chromalusts or your green shadows of choice over the cream shadow and blend until you’re happy with a gradual soft fade. I am in love with Olivia so much, it’s the most beautiful olive bright acid green and I just can’t get over it. I adore it.
To line the bottom of the eyes I used a bit of Urban Decay’s Freak in the inner corners and this beautiful Pixi pencil that I found in my stash – in 2nd Star Twinkle – all over the rest of the eye. It’s a bit of a darker more blackened green shade, and I did this on purpose because i wanted it to offset the bright green mascara I was going to layer on the bottom of the lashes only.
Use a normal black mascara on the top lashes to keep it looking gorgeous, but then to add that last little pop of colour, why not try a green mascara too? When Butter London sent over their new Wink Colour Mascaras to me (I have a yellow and a pink too, squee!) I pretty immediately fell in love. This one is Jaded Jack and it works so, so well. You’ll be amazed at how pigmented these mascaras are!
Voila! Set it on fire with a nudey lip and a peach blush and you’re so ready for Latitude. Would you rock a green themed eye? What do you think of this look? I adore it – the proof is in the pudding that George came home from work to find me in bright green eye makeup and didn’t bat an eyelid. Ace. What other colours should I play with next?
